The National Semiconductor Standardization Conference was held in Kunshan, aiming to explore new paths for high-quality development of the industry.

From October 30th to 31st, 2025, the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Fourth Session of the National Semiconductor Device Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC78) and the Semiconductor Discrete Device Subcommittee (SAC/TC78/SC1), along with the Kunshan Semiconductor Industry High-Quality Development Seminar, were held in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. More than 100 experts, enterprise representatives, and government leaders from the national semiconductor field gathered to discuss new opportunities for standardization and industrial upgrading.

During the meeting, the National Semiconductor Device Standardization Technical Committee and the Discrete Device Subcommittee systematically summarized the progress of standardization work in 2025, and reviewed and approved several key standard revision proposals, covering areas such as power device reliability testing and third-generation semiconductor material application specifications. Experts at the meeting pointed out that with the intensification of competition in the global semiconductor industry, standardization work has become an important tool for promoting technological innovation and ensuring the security of the industrial chain. The revised standards adopted at this meeting will further fill domestic technological gaps and help domestically produced devices overcome international market barriers.

As the host, Wang Yan, Deputy Director of the Suzhou Municipal Market Supervision Administration, emphasized that the market supervision department will continue to optimize the standard innovation ecosystem, support enterprises in participating in the formulation of international standards, and provide a "standard engine" for the high-quality development of the semiconductor industry. During the meeting, Sun Tianshu, Deputy Director of the Kunshan Municipal Market Supervision Administration, also introduced the local "Semiconductor Standard Leading Program," which aims to cultivate more specialized and innovative enterprises through financial support and technology matching.

Advanced Unit in Standardization Work

During the seminar, representatives from the organizers, including BRMICRO Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., shared their practical experience in the localization of semiconductors such as chips and sensors, as well as the role of standardization in promoting the company's development.

Zhang Feifei, General Manager of BRMICRO Electronic , said: "In global competition, standards equal discourse power. BRMICRO Electronics' standardization practices have always been market-demand oriented, transforming innovative advantages into market advantages through the path of 'technology patenting—patent standardization—standard internationalization.' As of 2025, the company had applied for more than 50 patents, of which invention patents accounted for over 80%. It has led the drafting of 3 national standards and participated in the formulation of 10 national and international standards, covering core aspects such as fingerprint recognition algorithms, sensor performance, and security authentication."

Other participating companies also engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as "improving chip reliability" and "standardization of advanced packaging technologies." The Secretary-General of the Discrete Devices Subcommittee of the National Semiconductor Device Standardization Technical Committee pointed out that in the future, they will strengthen collaboration with local industrial clusters to promote precise alignment between standard development and industry needs.

This conference was hosted by the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Semiconductor Devices and organized by BRMICRO Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. The successful convening of the conference marks a new stage of collaborative innovation in my country's semiconductor standardization work and injects strong momentum into the Yangtze River Delta region's efforts to build a world-class semiconductor industry base.
